Definition: Galaxy Watch


The current series of smartwatches from Samsung. Debuting in 2018, the Galaxy Watch series superseded the Samsung Gear line. With sizes from 30 to 46 mm and up to 16GB of storage, like Samsung Gear S models, Galaxy Watches are available with a cellular option for making stand-alone calls without a smartphone. Featuring health and fitness, new models were introduced each year starting with the Galaxy Watch3 in 2020, the Watch4 in 2021 and the Watch5 in 2022 (there was no Watch2 in 2019). Originally using the Tizen OS, the Watch4 switched to Wear OS. See Tizen and Wear OS.

Galaxy Watch Active
In 2019, Galaxy Watch Active models debuted, featuring 5 ATM and IP68 water resistance. Using the Tizen OS, Active models weigh 25 grams compared to 49 grams for the regular models. See atmosphere.




Galaxy Watch5 Pro
